How can an AI-driven startup transition from human-led operations to an automated model without sacrificing sales or price positioning?

Hi,

You are basically a group of people in search of a repeatable and scalable business model. Right now, you don't have one.

Stop worrying about being operationally heavy. Use the humans to figure out the exact formula that works. Once you know exactly what builds trust and gets people to buy, then you can build the technology to automate it.

So . . .

1) Sales flow: Don’t force pure bot-led sales yet. Use humans where needed, but aim to gradually shift them to only the highest-friction moments, and when you do, make them invisible copilots feeding Kaira’s learning loop. (When we started building Wisen, we did a similar thing - since it doesn't make sense to spend a lot of energy building something until you have a better idea what you need to build). So focus on having every human intervention be training data. If humans replace the bot, you’re building a travel agency. If humans train the bot, you’re building an asset.

2) Monetization: Full price transparency is noble, but dangerous if you’re not the cheapest. So don’t compete on lowest price — at least for now. Compete on confidence, speed, and trip optimization. Bundle where value is created; unbundle only where comparison helps you. Lower markups alone aren't going to fix discount-seeking behavior.

To make sure you're on the track, measure contribution margin by journey type, and double down only where bot-assisted trust actually converts profitably. Your goal at this point is finding repeatable economics. Because growth without repeatable economics is theater.

Good luck!
