Perhaps the advice I dish out the most frequently is "don't'quit your day job. As you point out, it's a luxury to be starting somethig without the added stress of knowing that if you don't get revenue soon, you lose your house and your kids can't eat.

But you're right ... it's almost impossible to hold two full time jobs at once - especially since starting a company is a job-and-a-half. So don’t try to “build a startup” every night - especially when you need to meet the obligations of your other job. So scale down you "side hustle" aspirations. . Pick one small, testable milestone: interview five customers, ship one feature, get one person to pay. Protect your best energy—maybe that’s 6–8am, not after work.

Also, set a deadline for the balancing act. For example: “I’ll give this six months to reach X revenue or Y customer traction.” That turns vague sacrifice into an experiment.

The goal isn’t endless hustle. It’s gathering enough evidence to know when keeping the safety net is smart—and when it’s holding you back.
