At what point do investors start viewing a mission-led startup as a venture-scale business?

Hi,
The thing is, investors don't care what category you're in. They care about traction. You stop being a "mission-led project" the second you show them undeniable engagement.
Don't lament the fact that they don't see the societal value yet. Go out there and show them the numbers.
Show them that kids are sticking around. Show them that every user who joins brings in three friends. When you can lay out specific metrics that prove this is a repeatable, scalable model, the category label won't matter. They'll just see a venture-scale business.
