How can a physical product brand build interest and market a product before inventory is ready?

Don’t wait for inventory to start selling. Start proving demand now. Every single product you see on Kickstarter began this way - strong demand, people voting with their wallet, and then waiting a long time for the actual product.

So first . . . spend some time studying KickStart. Look at the listings. Sign up for one of them. See how they market, how they fulfill, how they communicate. You're playbook has already been written - you just have to read it.

But if you want me to lay it our for you, I’d begin with three things: a waitlist, a story, and a test.

Build a simple landing page with your brand story, product renders/prototypes, price range, and a strong email/SMS signup. Then create content around the emotional hook - whatever it is: scent, memory, intimacy, gifting, identity. Important: You’re not selling jewelry yet—you’re selling meaning.

Next, test demand with pre-orders or deposits from a small batch of ideal customers. With only 89 pieces, scarcity is real—use it. “First collection. Limited release. Join the list.” That’s honest and powerful.

The tough love part: don’t spend months “marketing” something no one has tried to buy and cant recieve. Start collecting emails, deposits, and objections now. Demand first. Inventory second.
