I would suggest starting with social ... use youtube or seomthing similar to do very short - 2 minute - pieces that recount your personal experiences and activities. You dont need a lot of money, a film crew, or a sound stage to figure out if you have the talent to create a compelling narrative - and more imporrtantly, if you havn't demonstrated you have the talent to do so in a short form, it's unlikely you'll find anyone to trust you to do it in a long form.
